This loop walk includes a beautiful shoreline section along Farranamangh beach, with lakeside views and passes ancient sites including standing stones and the remains of the O’Dalaigh Bardic School.

Farranamanagh Loop Directions & Map
Directions: Follow the red arrows northeast (towards Ahakista) on the public road for a short distance before turning right and entering farmland. This walk is a mixture of farmland and open hill, but has some amazing shoreline views, passing the old Bardic School, standing stones and burial grounds. At Dromnea the trail crosses the main road and continues across farmland and hillside before returning to Kilcrohane along the road.
There are a number of historical sites along the way: Farranamanagh Stone Row, Farranamanagh Standing Stone, Dromnea Holy Well, O'Dalaigh Bardic School, Farranamangh Lake and beach and the Bob and Mary Walsh Memorial.
